Random House’s Fear of Muslim Violence Trumps Free Speech

"Random House wimped out and chose to go back on its agreement with an author because of the warnings of some academics. Better to protect their own hides than to promote free and open discourse.....

"Denise Spellberg, an associate professor of Islamic history at the University of Texas in Austin....."was upset,” when she read this novel after Random House sent it to her as a pre-publication heads up. “In an interview, Ms. Spellberg"..said "the novel is a 'very ugly, stupid piece of work.' She was upset,” and told the interviewer that the novel 'made fun of Muslims and their history,' and asked him to warn Muslims."

As a result, Random House pulled the book from publication and broke the contract with the author. The book, "The Jewel of Medina by Sherry Jones, a fiction novel about A’isha, Muhammad’s youngest bride" is now pending new publication.

This was done in order not to offend Saddam Hussaein, but was a blatent manipulation of the news fed to the world in order to be able to keep their CNN office in Bagdad open. Exactly how is the news being manipulated here, and for what purpose?

On WorldNetDaily I found this article that starts off stating that "Food workers at the Shelbyville, Tenn., plant for Tyson Foods, which boasts on its corporate website that it strives "to honor God," will have time off for Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim holiday closing the month of Ramadan, instead of the American tradition Labor Day."

Take note: out of a 1,200 work force at the plant, Muslims represent 700 in number. This should have been expected since it appears that whenever Muslim numbers reach 40% and over, they feel quite comfortable in making Islamic demands.
