‘Obama Better for Israel than McCain' in the Long Run?

this is rather amusing: it's the battle between two of Conservative Media's titans as to whether McCain or Obama would be best for the U.S., Israel and the World.

The article lays out the position of "columnist and WorldNetDaily founder Joseph Farah" (very conservative) in support for Obama, and "Caroline Glick, celebrated Jerusalem columnist and now managing editor of The Jerusalem Post", who "strongly supports McCain".

The arguments between these two titans is most interesting, and MOST UNUSUAL. those of you who remember the Carter years will especially get a surprise out of this.

ADL Condemns Evangelical Conversion Drive

In a statement issued by the ADL's "national director Abraham H. Foxman and ADL director of interfaith policy Rabbi Eric J. Greenberg' to JPost, we read that "The New York-based Anti-Defamation League on Sunday denounced a call by a Canadian-based international evangelical Christian organization to target European Jews for conversion, calling it a "serious affront to the Jewish people" and "disrespectful" to Judaism........

"To issue this declaration from Berlin, where the Nazis directed their Final Solution to exterminate the Jewish people, is the height of insensitivity."

I don't think that anything has really changed within these Christian groups except that the lines of demarcation are being more clearly drawn. We must be able to differentiate between these groups and treat them accordingly.

Criminals On The Bench

Interestingly enough, this post by Obadiah Shoher on Samson Blinded (fast becoming one of my favorite bloggers), goes to the heart of a phenomena that is not just Israeli. In California, the Bench recently also forgot its job description and trampled on the democratic rights of its resident citizens. Most reading this blog surely know what I'm talking about.

In any case, to give you a taste of this short post, here is some of what Shoher posted: "Justice Minister Friedmann’s efforts at reforming the Supreme Court are not the usual bureaucratic squabble but the most important political shift since the right-wing Likud came to power in 1977." ...because despite that shift in 1977 the "leftists continued to rule the country through law enforcement" (courts/police) and media."

To our friends from the left and Lies

I just read this most interesting post on the Samson Blinded blog. the author, Obadiah Shoher states the following:

A "popular lie: unlike their ancestors from the time immemorial until the 1945, gentiles now help Israel and our entire existence depends on American benevolence. Really? In 1948, the US Administration recalled its UN vote in favor of establishing the State of Israel and embargoes arms shipment to the Jewish state. That was three years after the Holocaust, when Jews were fighting the war of survival. America refused so little as to provide Israel with manuals for the Sherman tanks, and Jewish spies got them from the Soviets who received the tanks through lend-lease program. In 1956 and 1967, the US General Staff prepared operation plans for landing in Sinai against the Jewish aggressors to defend Egypt. You think the American attitude to Israel somehow radically changes in 1973? Not at all. Kissinger only sought to counter the growing Soviet influence, and started arms delivery to Israel in response to massive Soviet airlift to Egypt; the military aid came too late and remained mostly unused. To prove that the US Administrations seek influence in the Middle East rather than Israel’s good is simple: America gives about as much aid to Egypt as to Israel, and sells much more of advanced weapons to Arabs than to Israel. Relative to GDP, Egypt and Palestinians receive a lot more of American aid than Israel."

The Russian Bear and the Israeli Ant

After a little over a month of computer related problems, I'm back full force even though I'm still trying to restore some lost files. In any event, here goes. Take a good look at this article by Moshe Feiglin who heads the Manhigut Yehudit faction of Likud in Israel. He starts out by saying:

"About a year ago, I saw a Russian television broadcast in which Vladimir Putin, riding a noble steed, reaches the edge of a lake, deftly removes his shirt and in an impressive display of muscle, leans over and washes his face in the crystal clear water.

That is when I began to worry."

The Feiglin Plan:

-We will restore Jewish Values, Pride & Integrity to Israel.
-Israel must be run according to Jewish Values - it can not be guided by “world opinion”.
-Israel can not be a Light Unto the Nations if it takes its orders from the Nations.
-We must recognize that our title to the Land of Israel is from our Creator and not from the League of Nations.
-Jewish Education - One hour per day for all Jewish students - but without any religious coercion.
-Install a Constitution - Install Legislative Districts and reform how the Supreme Court members are chosen - in order to strengthen the Jewish character of Israel.
-Family Values - Nurture the Jewish family as the core and future of Israel. Abolish the “marriage tax”.
-Victory - Restore the concept of “Jewish Justice” to Israel & the IDF. The words “proportionate response” will be removed from our vocabulary. Win the current war in Judea, Samaria & Gaza, and Annex all of the Land of Israel. If other enemies -such as Iran, Hezbollah, Syria or Egypt - threaten us, we will end their ability to continue to do so.
-Arabs - End all terrorism and the firing of rockets at Jewish cities. End the rebellion of the Israeli– Arabs. Offer significant financial incentives to the Arabs to emigrate.
-Economy - Phase out the taking of all US aid (it is only 2.5% of Israel’s GNP). Initiate massive government-funded program to develop energy Independence. Restore our real & our perceived sovereignty.
