This might be a surprise to most, certainly it is to me. It seems to go counter to everything that we have known about Europe till now. In support of this view, Daniel Pipes quotes Robert Marquand in the Christian Science Monitor with the banner heading "Israel finds more sympathy in Europe: Concerns about Islamist threat have influenced traditionally pro-Arab Europe's view of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."
